I dont plan on re-working the X-Rebirth site, since this use in-game files to populate the database - a half-way solution, I know but still is a lot easier to update than building a database. So now finally the database has been removed for all x-sites apart from X-Rebirth. I know the X2 and X3 sites arent heavily used areas any-more, but I wanted to update them. At the initial start-up screen, you may change some basic settings. You can also do the following: From the Start Menu click on Programs, click Egosoft and then click on X3: Terran Conict. The X2 and X3 sites use my newer design sector maps too. Click on the X3: Terran Conict shortcut icon on your computer desktop. The new map also shows sectors containing mines, pirate bases, equipment docks and shipyards, with a little icon at the bottom right of the sector box. This has been rolled out to X2, X3, X3TC and X3AP sites. So I wanted to build a new map using standard HTML. Flash itself isnt supported that well by browsers nowadays. The reason for this is that they used flash. This should be completed now - so now the X2, X3, X3TC and X3AP sites all use in-game files now, but I have still some minor things to fix.ĭuring the process however I noticed the universe maps werent showing correctly. They both had their own challenges, X2 being very old and X3 require more sections (lasers, missiles, shields, wares, etc.). So just recently ive been working on X2 and X3 sites, making them use in-game files too. Those two sites still relied on the old method, the database. The X3TC and X3AP sites were changed over, but the X2 and X3 sites werent. So started the process of changing the x-sites to use in-game files.
X3 TERRAN CONFLICT SECTOR MAP MODS
Just make sure to buy both X3 Terran Conflict and X3 Albion Prelude since X3TC is the base game and X3AP is the addon which is much better than the base game in it self and the best to put mods on. In 19 BBY, X4 was placed in command of a remote garrison in the Kathol Outback region and was disconnected from the Confederacys main droid control grid. This was time-consuming process and often lead to inconsistencies, due to how hard it was to create. This will be the best couple of dollars you spend on a space sim PERIOD. X4, originally designated OOM-71, was an OOM-series battle droid commander in service of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. In the past those sites relied on a database that I built up from various resources. A long time ago I started the process of converting how the X-sites get their data. If that doesn't bother you too much, then X3 might be for you.Its awhile since ive done any updates to the X-sites (X2, X3, X3TC, X3AP), but just recently I had some extra time. You will constantly run into roadblocks while digging into this game. The dev's skill level and resources are just way smaller than their ambition. When managed correctly, they will often make more money than a factory for the same cost, and can run away when necessary but don't let this fool you - using OOS Combat Resolution will. It's no excuse to say that the game must be complicated because the possibilities are so vast. Universe and Sector Traders are one of the main ways to make money in x3, whether it be Reunion, Terran Conflict or Albion Prelude. But with almost no streamlining whatsoever. X3 does things that no other game does (in a good sense). And overly complicated gameplay in general. You got ridicoulus design choices, serious limitations which you have to work around all the time. But in many ways their best isn't much if you ask me.

They are trying hard to make it happen and do their best. The devs have one of the greatest visions in gaming history.

I would love to play any other game similar to X3, but there are just no alternatives around. Ships also look worse due to the modular approach. It hurts my immersion and i prefer to only imagine the station life like in X3. The graphic assets down there just don't look good (NPC's, clutter). I would like to play without any 1st person gameplay (walking on stations). Especially if the universe is supposed to grow even further with DLC. It will be hard to achieve acceptable performance in all gameplay situations. X4 is cramped with performance hungry features and details (modular ships and stations, bloated AI routines like morale checks for each pilot). And i don't have high hopes that AI related stuff like this will ever reach an acceptable level. It's still so bad that i consider X4 to be nothing more than a WIP. Ships fall behind or fly ahead and arrive at different times. critical stuff like fleet followers staying with their leader is still not working. - the mod was adjusted to 3.1 game's version - previously found errors were fixed - sectors’ names were colored - some performance increasing changes were made - the ships of M8 class were changed: they act as assault ships from now on - the new pirate boarding corvette of 'Clipper. The map UI is also a lot better in my opinion. It has a more detailed and simulated economy.
